ELECTION OF OFFICERS AT NATIONAL MEETING Our national meeting of Modern Day Veterans was held on June 22, 2009 at the National Headquarters ,located in Poplar Bluff, Mo.. Meeting was called to order at 7:50p.m. opening with the Pledge Of Allegiance led by Gary Lawrence of chapter One. We then discussed officers duties then took nominations for officers. Jimmy Bollinger of Chapter One was nominated and voted in as President Ronnie Grindstaff of chapter 1146 was nominated and voted in as Vice President Roy Devore of Chapter 319 was nominated and voted in as Treasurer Jim Reed of Chapter 289 was nominated and voted in as Judge Advocate Arthur Jasmer of Chapter 484 was nominated and voted in as Inspector Joe Rudolph was nominated and voted in as Veteran Representative The offices of Secretary, Chaplain, and Quartermaster voted to be left open for nominations from any chapter member interested. The constitution was discussed and changes were voted on and all attending chapters signed the revised copy. Discussed and explained were the IRS Bible (explaining a 501c19), Member Sign in Sheets, Special Event Fact Sheets, Minutes of Meetings, and W9's. Also discussed activity suggestions (Arthur Jasmer of chapter 484 dresses like Jack Sparrow and takes pictures and signs autographs to raise money). Discussed that Family Auxiliary enables our clubs to have family members as members, like other veterans clubs. Explained how to open a Family Auxiliary and handed out the proper papers to do so. Talked about the IRS audit and Lawyer. Someone in Veteran Affairs talked about and explained farther the W9's and 990's.
